Extensive selection of sound categories
- Sculpt immersive worlds of sound
The samples in Dystopia Diary were meticulously collected, curated, and edited by Ocean Swift Synthesis over more than 20 years. While most content is entirely original, a few sounds began as public domain sources, each heavily processed and reimagined. Every sample has been crafted to inspire and immerse, offering a diverse range of sonic possibilities.
- Carpets: Long, evolving soundscapes perfect for creating backdrops and setting a scene.
- Industry: The grind and hum of construction, machinery, generators, and industrial drones.
- Military: Sounds of planes, drones, tanks, alarms, UAVs, and military convoys bring tension and intensity.
- Noise: Pure and atmospheric noise sources, both synthesized and sampled, drawing inspiration from Porphyra Hybrid and expanded with additional content.
- Outside: A spectrum of environmental sounds, from nature to urban ambiences—birds, beaches, rain, church bells, lawnmowers, and more.
- Chatter: Captured shortwave radio transmissions, police and air traffic scanners, old answering machines, and public domain government recordings—textural and evocative.
- Twilight: Shortwave radio weirdness—surreal, mysterious, and perfect for stepping into the sonic unknown.
- Transport: The hustle of airports, trains, cars, buses, and traffic-related soundscapes.
- Tune: Playable drones and tuned atmospheres crafted from Ocean Swift’s own synth creations, including Scope DSP platform patches and VSTs like Aeolian Meditation and Polyphenon.
- Untune: Untuned atmospheres with tonal richness but no defined pitch, synthesized or sampled from the same sources as the Tuned category.
- Elmooht: Rare tracks from Elmooht, an Ocean Swift founder’s experimental ambient alias, transformed into eerie, melancholic soundscapes and deep drones.
- Porphyra: Factory patches of the Porphyra Hybrid synthesizer were recorded and processed into rich tones.
- User: An empty menu for your custom sounds, enabling seamless integration of your own content.
Each category brings unique textures and tones, allowing you to sculpt immersive worlds of sound. Whether you’re creating atmospheric tension or cinematic beauty, Dystopia Diary is your ultimate toolkit.
